VonShef often impress with their affordable appliances and kitchen gadgets — their smoothie-maker is no different. It also happens to look very smart around the kitchen. The functionality is straightforward, intuitive and powerful, producing impressive results, even working through tougher ingredients like fibrous ginger. Its compact design and non-slip feet make it well-suited to small kitchens and it's great value for money.

Despite its compact size, this smoothie maker is still powerful. It's simple to use, great value for money and put in an excellent overall performance in our tests, blending ice, oats and tougher fruits such as apples and grapes with ease. It takes up minimal counter space though and the two ml cups, are slim and easy to store.

The Nutribullet is a great all-rounder. It processes a variety of fruits, seeds, ice and oats effortlessly, and comes with a recipe book. The preset blending settings take the guesswork out of smoothie making by stopping the motor automatically when the liquid is adequately blended. Reliable and accessible, the cups and lids are leakproof and dishwasher-safe and the blades can be detached for cleaning. It won't manage nuts and seeds but will flawlessly blend strawberry-based smoothies and protein shakes.
